The perfect travel companion is thin and light.

Nope, it’s not your favorite girlfriend — although she’ll love you forever if she thinks you’re describing her — I’m talking about a handy travel laptop, or better yet, a mini notebook or netbook. I admit I love having my iPhone with me but at the end of the day in the privacy of my hotel room, I’d like to be able to type away and uploading images on a laptop.

There are several mini notebooks out now, which I’d say are great to bring along when you travel. They’re even as small and as light as your make-up kit! Laptops attract a lot of attention in public areas, so here are a few tips:

  • Keep your laptop in your hand-carry bag and not in your check-in luggage.
  • I love pink but pink attracts attention, even unwanted attention. So, while traveling, it is better not to take out your laptop when waiting for your flight or train. Keep her out of sight for now!
  • Slip it in a snug travel case. You never know when accidents happen.
  • Never drink or eat while using your laptop. I know that we get excited to share our day with friends and family back home but you don’t have to multi-task! You’re on vacation!

With these light laptops or netbooks (sorry, I’m no techie), you can log on to your favorite social networks and post where you went, what you did, the food you ate,  the jokes you said, accompanied by your images just taken a few hours ago!

And the good thing is, you don’t turn into a hunchback when seeing the world with this thin and light travel companion!
