Since I am still dreaming of my Florence trip, I thought I’d watch Under the Tuscan Sun… again. I just adore the setting and the adventures of Frances (Diane Lane’s character). The little details in the movie about the Tuscan lifestyle makes one look forward to visiting Florence and Tuscany!

Alright, most women are pretty much happy (or contented) with their life but if you had the chance to do things on a whim, what would you do? Buying a house in Tuscany is a very bold move for one who doesn’t speak the language. Not only that, Frances didn’t know anything else about the place, aside from that feeling of excitement she had when the tour bus drove past it.

Call me shallow but I enjoyed watching the scenes around the table. Food, friends and family are always a great mix when one wants to relax.

While piecing the Florence trip together and watching Under the Tuscan Sun (LOL), I came across Rick Steve’s collection of Italy Audio Tours. Go ahead and downloaded the Uffizi Gallery Tour mp3 and the map. Listening to it, looking at photos with the intention of making that trip takes us a step closer to realizing it!

Boticelli’s Birth of Venus is one of the most popular artworks to see at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. I’ve been to Florence several times accompanying groups who come to see the main sites of Europe in 2 to 3 weeks.

An afternoon in Florence is not enough to appreciate all that Renaissance has to offer. So, this post is part of my wishlist. I’d love to return to Florence to breathe in the art and beauty for a few days. Not just an afternoon and evening.

If you start off from the Santa Maria Novella, the main train station in Florence, the Uffizi Gallery is less than twenty minutes on foot. I’ve added a map here so that you can keep this part for later reference.
