If you have a limited time in Europe, you can still fly using cheap European airlines. Sometimes, there are promotional flights for as low as a euro! Don’t expect rockstar treatment. Most of these flights are no frill flights.

Frills such as drinks and eats are still available but you’ll just have to make sure you’ve got loose change or small bills. I don’t eat the food on board since I eat before I board. Most of the food on the menu just don’t thrill me enough. No need for entertainment such as movies or music since flights are short. And these days, people have their ipods to keep them entertained.

Years ago, flying no frills used to be a nightmare. I remember laughing my head off watching the Carol Burnett Show – I still do! These days, flying on a European budget airline isn’t a sorry tale.

Friends and clients often ask – What’s the best way to get from Paris to Rome? Paris and Rome are two of the famous destinations in Europe for both first time travelers and those who love returning to Europe for vacation or short holidays. I love these two cities, too!

So, because this is an often asked question, I’ve decided to put all my answers together. Here goes:

Paris to Rome Option 1

Take a flight. For those without any budget constraints, flying is the first choice. It’s roughly around 1400 kilometers from Paris to Rome, so you save a lot of time when you take a flight. It’s a two-hour flight.

Check out flights on Wegolo.

Vueling and Air Berlin fly from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Rome Fiumicino. Easy access to and from the city center. You can also try Easyjet since there are times when they’ve got fantastic low fares! Thing is, they fly from Paris Orly and arrive at Rome Ciampino. There is a bus service that takes passengers from Ciampino to the Termini in Rome. I tried this, and by the time I reached the Termini, I wanted to get rid of my suitcase. It just got me tired! Ryanair departs from Paris Beauvais to Rome Ciampino. Take note, it takes more than an hour by bus from Paris Porte Maillot to Paris Beauvais airport.

Paris to Rome Option 2

Take the train. It’s cheaper than a flight and, no need to check-in 2 hours before. You can even arrive just 15 minutes before the train is scheduled to leave. Personally, too tight for me, but my friends don’t seem to mind doing this. When you arrive in Rome, you’re right at the center of the Eternal City!

Warning for those who can’t keep still – it’s roughly a 15-hour ride! For more information, check out Special Deals from Rail Europe.

Paris to Rome Option 3

Take the bus. Eurolines is one of the most economical ways to get from Paris to Rome. The only downside (for me, since I am just a little bit of a spoiled brat) is the number of hours you spend on the bus. You leave Paris Gallieni station at 6:30pm and arrive in Rome at 4:45pm – ouch! If I take this, I will be crying tears of joy when I reach Rome! From eternal sitting to the Eternal City!

These are my ideas on how to get from Paris to Rome. Personally, I’d fly from Paris to Rome. Hope to hear from your experience soon!
